- Thank you for applying to our Financial Economics (MS) program for the Fall 2026 term. I’m writing to inform you that the School of Economics is currently restructuring its graduate programs and will not admit students to any of its graduate programs for the 2026-2027 academic year. This pause will allow the School to re-envision its graduate offerings, strengthen support for PhD students, and develop new programs aligned with workforce and research priorities. We value your interest in UMaine, and given this disappointing news, I wanted to offer you two options: Keep your application open: If you would like to be considered for admission when the restructured programs reopen (anticipated for Fall 2027), we will be happy to hold your application materials and fee on file. Withdraw your application: If you prefer, withdraw your application to the University of Maine and receive a refund of your application fee (if applicable). Please reply to this email by March 20, indicating your choice between options 1 and 2. We recognize this news may affect your plans and regret any inconvenience this change may cause. If you have any questions about your application status or next steps, please feel free to contact us.
