- I received an email to check the portal. I’m not surprised. The PI was new and mentioned that there wasn’t funding available (although I did receive a nomination). Overall, very high grades with distinction standing from high-ranking universities. I also have one published paper and a master’s capstone project that directly aligned with the work the PI was doing. All this to say sometimes it's just luck and funding based and no one should feel badly if they didn't get in.
