Note

After weeks of no responses to my status inquiries, they finally sent me a rejection notice, which I find to be odd - a much higher ranked school gave me priority admission. IU might have been a "safety school" for me except that their research projects were exactly what I was looking for, and I said so in my essays. I was a very strong fit for one of the faculty groups yet I didn't even get an unfunded offer. This is very disappointing, and I'm beginning to wonder if it was just due to a disorganized application handing process.
