I would like to stress that we have a far greater number of qualified applicants than available positions. Of the 237 applications to our Graduate Program, we are able to accept class cohorts of only 10 -12 Ph.D. and 20 M.A. students for September. As a result, we are compelled to turn down many strong candidates.

Essentially, they wanted to know if I would even go there. Nice people. However, as of this moment, I have still not received an offer, even after the DGS emailed me and the dept sent an itinerary for the visit. So, I have not idea what my funding is.
