Near & Middle Eastern Studies, University Of Washington For me, the application season is over. I wish everyone success. I applied to 15 universities. I got 5 acceptances. I'm in 1 shortlisted. I think Washington lost because I know advanced Arabic, Persian, Ottoman Turkish, Turkish and French.

Near And Middle Eastern Civilizations, University Of Toronto The application season seems to be over for me. I made 20 applications and received 5 acceptances. There are two applications that have not been announced so far, but the ones I have received acceptance offers are better than the ones that have not been announced. I wish success to everyone who is waiting for news. My advice to those who will apply next year is not to send an e-mail to only one professor when you apply. Notify all the professors in your field that you have applied by sending an e-mail. I didn't do this when I was applying, but I have seen from those who have been accepted from universities such as Harvard and Princeton that they present projects that they will not actually work on but will be of interest to the department. In this way, you can turn to projects that you will not actually work on, but that will attract the department's attention more and increase your chances of getting accepted. Especially gender is one of these topics...

Near Eastern Studies, Princeton University I have been an active member and employee of the Princeton community for two years and have gotten to know NES faculty and students very well. For a variety of reasons I was waitlisted in spot one. Moving from the Princeton-Trenton area given my current situation would be extremely difficult. If you have been accepted to NES but know you will decline please let them know as soon as possible.

Near Eastern Studies, Princeton University Email to check portal. Sucks because I thought the interviews, and even the language tests, went quite well; but definitely didn't do as well as I wanted to on the presentation. Sucks because I thought it would have also been the best fit. Alas...

While I assure you that the materials you submitted were carefully reviewed by the faculty in the Department of Near Eastern Studies, I regret to inform you the department did not recommend your admission for the upcoming academic year. The number of admission offers available at Princeton for entering graduate students is extremely limited, and we cannot offer admission to all applicants who are well qualified. Indeed, many departments have applicants who could be admitted if it were possible to accommodate additional students. Our decisions take into account not only the applicants’ merits but also the suitability of the programs to the candidates’ expressed interests. Our goal is to achieve a sound match between the strengths of our programs and the interests of the relatively small number of outstanding students that can be accommodated. Unfortunately, due to the volume of applications which we receive, it is not possible for the department or the Graduate School to go back and review applications to justify the denial or offer advice on fortifying a future application. Near And Middle Eastern Civilizations, University Of Toronto Ignore the interview. Has anyone received updates regarding the interviews or decisions? The application deadline was November 30th, and it has been quite a while since then. Could anyone share any information or updates they have heard?
